I could feel my skin frying under the desert sun. The sky was clear and blue. Dusty tan mountains and rocky hills reached up from the water. As your eye is drawn down from the sky to the mountains, then to the horizon of the water, yachts and boats of every kind appear, anchored in the bay just outside of the marina. People dotted the water in life jackets, sitting and moving on paddle boards and other new self-propelled apparatuses…
